Privacy

Join New Haven is a project of the Westville Synagogue in New Haven, Connecticut. We don't sell or rent anything we learn about visitors, and we don't use it for advertising.

Analytics

We use PostHog to learn which pages and links are useful, so we can make the site better. When you visit, PostHog records the pages you view, how long they stay on screen, the links and buttons you click, the site that sent you here, and general details such as your browser, device type and approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address). It may also record a replay of how you moved through the site. Anything you type into a form is hidden from those replays.

To recognize a returning visitor, PostHog stores a random ID in your browser (a cookie and local storage). It doesn't contain your name or contact details. You can block or clear it in your browser settings, and the site works the same without it. PostHog's own privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.

The contact form and WhatsApp

If you send the contact form, what you write (your name, how to reach you and your question) is emailed to us through Web3Forms. If you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy. We use what you send only to answer you and to tell you about the community in New Haven. Ask us and we'll delete it.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs to run and protect it.
